Defaced!
Money, Conflict & Protest.

Venue: The Fitzwilliam Museum
Exhibition Design: Tom Piper
Lighting Design: Lewis Hannaby for Beam Lighting Design

Forensic, reflection-controlled lighting lets countermarks, scratches and overprints read like testimony. Matte surrounds, cross-polarisation and tight shutters keep glazing quiet, while a restrained ambient level protects both eyes and argument. Tonal shifts mark thematic pivots so visitors sense the narrative temperature change without theatricality.
